Sudbury, the regional capital of Northeastern Ontario, is also Ontario’s largest municipality by landmass, encompassing a geographic area of 362,700 hectares.
The city is surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield and is home to over 300 beautiful lakes including Lake Wanapitei, the largest city-contained lake in the world.

Where is Sudbury?
The city of Sudbury is located at the convergence of two major highways, Highway 69 South and Highway 17.
While the city and surrounding region are most easily explored by car or motorcycle, VIA Rail or Ontario Northland bus service is available. Sudbury is also serviced by the Greater Sudbury Airport.

Explore Sudbury’s trails
Hike or bike one of Sudbury’s popular Rainbow Routes. In the winter, explore the Sudbury Trail Plan, a network of over 1,000 kilometres of groomed snowmobile trails.
Spend a day fishing
Cast a line at scenic Kukagami Lake for smallmouth bass, lake trout or walleye, or Crowley Lake for yellow perch.
Visit a farm museum
The Anderson Farm Museum Heritage Society runs a historic dairy farm on over 23,000 hectares. The farm was built by Finnish settlers to the region over a century ago.

One of Northern Ontario's most popular attractions, the Science North complex features a digital planetarium, a massive IMAX cinema with revolving features and a butterfly gallery.
Find a giant nickel
Visit Dynamic Earth to gaze at the world’s largest coin, a giant replica of a 1951 Canadian nickel, and descend over seven stories for a historic mine tour.
Ice skate on a frozen lake
Open from mid-January to mid-March (weather permitting) the Ramsey Lake Skating Path takes skaters on a 1.5 kilometre route that stretches between McNaughton Terrace and Science North.
