The neighbouring communities of Whitby and Oshawa are located on the north shore of Lake Ontario just under an hour's drive east of Toronto.
Both are most easily explored by car, although there are many options for public transit. These include regional services from GO Transit and VIA Rail, along with local options from Durham Region Transit. The nearest airport to Whitby and Oshawa is Toronto Pearson Airport.
