Prince Edward County
Often called “The County” or “PEC”, Prince Edward County is one of Ontario’s most treasured holiday spots for its world-class wineries, sandy beaches and boutique accommodations.
Visitors flock to The County to explore small towns with antique shops, art galleries and farm-to-table fare. The 46-kilometre Millennium Trail stretches the length of The County, providing adventure for cyclists, hikers and birdwatchers.
Where is Prince Edward County?
Prince Edward County is located on the eastern shores of Lake Ontario, roughly halfway between Toronto and Ottawa. The County is most easily explored by car or motorcycle, although driving tours, bike tours and even public transit from the town of Belleville are available.

Things to do in Prince Edward County
Get out on the water
PEC’s sandy beaches are a natural hotspot for water activities. Start with a relaxing swim at Sandbanks Provincial Park or Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park.
Go to a festival
In the summer, check out the Prince Edward County Jazz Festival, or Countylicious in fall and spring, or Elevage Winter Wine or Flashback February in the winter.
Visit a farmers’ market
From spring to fall, visit the Saturday Wellington Farmers’ Market or Sunday Farmers' Market in Picton.
Tour a museum or art gallery
Take a glimpse into local history at the Wellington Heritage Museum, Ameliasburgh Museum Pioneer Village or Mariners Park Museum, Or tour modern art galleries and rustic barn studios along the Art Trail
Discover PEC wine
Explore the wineries of Prince Edward County. Guided tours by bike or van are available, complete with wine tastings and food pairings.
Check out a sugar shack
