Arrowhead Provincial Park
Just 10 minutes north of Huntsville, Arrowhead Provincial Park is part of the Ontario Parks system and offers access to fun activities all year long. It’s a convenient day trip for visitors and a welcome respite for locals.
During the winter, a 1.3-kilometre skating trail meanders through the forest. Cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snow tubing are also popular throughout the season. Summertime activities range from hiking and camping, to swimming and relaxing on beautiful beaches along Lake Arrowhead. No matter the time of year, you’ll find you never run out of things to do while in the park.

How to get to Arrowhead Provincial Park
Location: 451 Arrowhead Park Road, Huntsville
By car: The park is located just seven kilometres north of Huntsville and is approximately a three-hour drive north of Toronto along the ON-11. Parking is available on-site and requires a vehicle permit.
By transit: Parkbus is a private transportation company that offers limited services between Toronto and several popular parks, including Arrowhead.
Know before you go
Advance reservations for the daily vehicle permit can be made up to five days before your visit to guarantee your spot and enter the park faster.
The winter skate trail is very popular, especially over weekends. Plan a weekday visit to weekdays to avoid the crowds.

Hike to great views
Explore diverse hiking trails, including the moderate Beaver Meadow Trail, which winds past the Porcupine Bluffs and Big Bend Lookout, with panoramic views of the Big East River.

Interesting facts about Arrowhead Provincial Park
This 1,237-hectare park was established in 1971 as a high-quality outdoor recreation setting in the heart of Muskoka. With 28 kilometres of classic ski trails and 16 skating and skiing trails of varying difficulties, this park is regarded as one of the best cross-country skiing destinations in Ontario.
A section of Lake Algonquin’s shoreline is visible from Arrowhead Provincial Park.
