How to get to Frontenac Provincial Park
Location: 6700 Salmon Lake Road, Sydenham
By car: Best accessed by car, Frontenac Provincial Park is a two-hour drive southwest of Ottawa and halfway between Toronto and Montreal. On-site parking is available with a daily vehicle permit.
Know before you go
Frontenac operates year-round. The visitor centre features a gift shop, washrooms and snowshoe rentals.
Motorized vehicles are prohibited within the park, so explore on foot or by paddle.
Make camping and day visit reservations well in advance, especially on weekends from April to November.

Interesting facts about Frontenac Provincial Park
Frontenac Provincial Park is part of the Frontenac Axis, a 2.1-billion-year-old rocky landscape once part of an ancient mountain chain bordering the Canadian Shield and the Adirondack Mountains. The park is dotted with granite outcrops and deep, crystal-clear lakes that were carved out during the last ice age.
Before becoming a park, the area was home to early settlement hamlets, farms and mines. While exploring, you may stumble upon old ruins and abandoned places.
