Kay-Nah-Chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre

Owned and operated by the Rainy River First Nations, the Manitou Mounds is a location of early habitation and one of the most significant ceremonial burial sites in Canada.

The centre features a wealth of educational resources and activities to learn about Ojibwe history and culture. The gift shop features unique beadwork, leatherwork and jewellery made by local Indigenous artists.

Thunder Bay Art Gallery

Since its inception in the early 1980s this gallery has grown to a collection of over 1,600 works representing traditional and innovative art, with a focus on contemporary Indigenous art, including significant works by Norval Morrisseau (Copper Thunderbird), known as the "Picasso of the North."
